The Lake Park Public Library Is Here For You!
We want you to know that the Lake Park Public Library is here for you! We had to close for a little while due to the COVID-19 spread, but we’re back and excited to serve you. Things may be a little different for a while, with limited hours and services inside the library, but we are thrilled to be able to offer a new array of virtual programming to help meet your needs.

Constellations: Science And Stories In The Sky
Summer is the finest part of the year for stargazing because it offers warm nights and the beauty of the Milky Way running straight overhead. The constellations we see have been passed down to us across generations with patterns that reflect different stories from around the world. As part of STAR Net‘s Sky Stories campaign, the American Museum of Natural History’s own Carter Emmart will show you how to identify the constellations and introduce you to a few of these stories while exploring some of the science behind the familiar patterns in the sky. Speaker Beatriz Mauersberg discusses what happens when your income decreases, but the bills don’t. An unexpected loss of income can be devastating. This workshop will teach participants strategies that may help them “stay afloat” in the face of a sudden decrease in income resulting from issues such as job loss, divorce, injury, or illness.
