The Town of Lake Park Community Development Department is a full-service department responsible for all planning and building, and the enforcement of the Town's Code of Ordinances. The Department's primary mission is to provide a platform that encourages appropriate growth and development within the guidelines and boundaries of the Town's Code of Ordinances, while at the same time assisting community businesses and residents in the best way possible. The Department strives to deliver the highest level of customer service and works in partnership with the community, while applying methods that preserve the quality of life and implement the Town's vision for the future.

The Department ensures that the Town's structures and natural environments are protected and enhanced according to the desires of the community and the letter of the Code. The Town Code of Ordinances can be accessed by clicking on the following link, or by visiting municode.com.

Community Development Staff provides support to the Town Commission, Planning and Zoning Board, Historic Preservation Board, Local Planning Agency (LPA), and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).

The Community Development Director acts as the principal urban planner for the Department and is responsible for all projects and initiatives performed through the following three Departmental Divisions:

  • Planning & Zoning

  • Building
    The Town of Lake Park accepts ELECTRONIC submittals. All applicants (owners, builders and contractors) are required to register through CAP, the Town's contracted building official and inspection company, at www.capfla.com. Once registered, permit applications (including all associated documents) must be uploaded through CAP. Applicants will be contacted following receipt in order to make payment, which is required to initiate review. Incomplete applications will be rejected and an explanation will be provided.

 Please follow the steps provided in the attachment below to register. Registering will also allow you to track the status of your individual application and schedule required inspections. A permit application may be tracked and inspections may be scheduled through the CAP website, using the username and password you created. The email address provided will also be used for all necessary notifications. The attachment below also includes inspection scheduling related information.
