Commissioner O’Rourke has been a resident of Palm Beach County for about twenty-six years.  He moved from Palm Beach Gardens to Lake Park two years ago.  Married to Patricia, they have three boys who are enrolled at college.  Michael has been an attorney since graduating from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1999 and becoming a member of the Florida Bar Association.   He has an undergraduate degree in Human Resources from Palm Beach Atlantic University.  He has previously served as a Council Member of the Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District.  He has been involved with several youth services organizations including serving on the board of the Palm Beach Gardens Youth Athletic Association, and the Palm Beach County Juvenile Justice Board.  He has served as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit and as a Deputy Sheriff in Westchester County, New York.  He is an active member of the Cathedral of Saint Ignatius Loyola and serves as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
